Iver
Tveitane Furuseth
What year were you born?
2010
When did you start playing disc golf?
I played my first round in 2021, during the COVID pandemic, when most people started playing.
What sparked your interest in disc golf?
My goal was to see how far I could go and how good I could become. I thought it was really fun, so I started playing more and more. Eventually, I became pretty good, and now I want to find out just how good I can become.
What are you most proud of achieving as a disc golfer?
Winning the national championship (NM) gold in the junior distance category, and finishing in the top ten at the Norwegian Championship that same year, which was my first time competing in one.
Which club are you a member of?
Hamar Frisbee Klubb.
What do you think of Hamar Frisbee Club?
It's definitely one of the best clubs out there, if not the very best. They do a lot to help players improve, and they maintain the course and organize everything really well.
How do you train for disc golf?
It's a combination of strength training to prevent injuries and building general strength for throwing. But there are also lots of different disc golf-specific exercises that you can do on a grassy field.
Do you do any training during the winter?
Yep. I’m a part of a "recruit" or "elite" group. It’s a group of about six people from Hamar Frisbee Club who will get to train alongside
Anniken Kristiansen Steen, who is among the world’s elite in the FPO division.
Are there any other coaches involved?
Egil Ragnar Danielsen, who is a javelin coach, and Anniken’s husband, Tom Erik Kristiansen Steen.
Do you have any goals for 2027?
I hope I can participate in all the Norway Cup events and the National Championship, and hopefully a couple of tournaments outside of Norway, probably in Sweden. It’s all good, but I'd also like to compete a bit more internationally.
You've already competed in quite a few tournaments. How do you think things have gone so far?
I think everything has gone pretty well. I have a solid game, and I feel that I have a pretty good chance of winning. I also have a lot of confidence when I go into a tournament, and that's often exactly what you need.
